Our islands are home to many exciting events throughout the year.
Celebrated on St. Thomas every April, the month-long celebration provides revelers with extravagant displays of pageantry, spirited music, mouthwatering food and colorful parades. Considered one of the Caribbean’s largest and most exuberant Carnival celebrations, the festival includes a variety of pageants, musical performances and sporting events.
Chefs and vintners from the U.S. along with the island's restaurants participate annually in this popular four-day fete. Festivities include gourmet dinners, an island-wide culinary competition with wine tastings from celebrated vintners, wine seminars, a wine auction, guest-chef dinners and the annual culinary competition, A Taste of St. Croix.
Every February, farmers, craftspeople and youth groups gather at the Virgin Islands Agriculture Department in Estate Lower Love for the annual agricultural fair. The festival also includes horse and donkey cart rides, traditional music and cooking demonstrations.
St. Croix has some of the world’s most popular athletic events. In May, athletes compete in the annual St.Croix Ironman 70.3 Triathlon. The Coral Reef Swim Races take place in October, the Caribbean Classic Triathlon takes place in November, and the St. Croix Half Marathon takes place every December. Each event draws thousands of visitors each year.
Winter holidays are celebrated Crucian-style with a unique cultural experience of pageantry, music, food and dancing. St. Croix hosts this month-long festival starting in December of each year with much jubilation.
This annual festival extends from early June through July 4th to celebrate the island’s rich cultural heritage. Pageants, music concerts, sporting races and food fairs are all part of this month-long festival, which culminates in an awe-inspiring fireworks display.
